Game Day Recap-November 29th

Two games took place tonight in NBL Canada action, both in the Atlantic Division. The Moncton Miracles were at Harbour Station to meet the Mill Rats and the Island Storm were in Halifax taking on the Rainmen at the Scotiabank Centre.

Moncton Miracles vs. Saint John Mill Rats



The Miracles losing streak continues as they fall 91-98 to the Mill Rats, dropping their record to 1-7, while the Mill Rats improve to 4-4. The Miracles have lost the last three games on the road.

Troy Brewer was the leading scorer for the Miracles with 17 points on the night, 3 rebounds, 4 assists. Tramar Sutherland was one point behind with 16, and added 6 rebounds and 2 assists. Dwayne Smith pulled down an impressive 13 rebounds to go along with his 15 points and 5 assists. 

The Miracles scored 28 points in the paint and dominated second chance points over the Mill Rats with 17. 

The Mill Rats owned the court scoring 48 points in the paint and shooting 80% from the floor. 

Kenny Jones who is averaging 20 points per game, racked up 30 on the night with 9 rebounds and 2 assists. Jabs Newby had an impressive night, scoring 21 points when he has only been averaging 6 points per game. He played 43 minutes and pitched in 4 rebounds and 7 assists.  Double A, Anthony Anderson added 19 points on the night and was 5/5 on the free throw line.

Serge Langis will have until Saturday, December 6th to get his team back on track when the Moncton Miracles host the Brampton A's at the Moncton Coliseum. Tip-off time is 7 p.m. The Mill Rats head to the Prince Edward Island to play their rivals the Island Storm tomorrow afternoon at the Eastlink Centre. Tip-off time is 2 p.m.

Halifax Rainmen vs. Island Storm



The Island Storm are back in the game with their third straight win on the road, improving their record to 4-4 on the season with a 109-97 win, while the Rainmen fall to a 3-3 record. 

Brandon Robinson had another stellar game with 23 points, 8 rebounds, and 3 assists. Robinson is averaging 21 points per game. Rashad Whack upped his game with 17 points on the night when he has only been averaging 8 points per game. Whack shot 50% from the field, went 100% from the 3-point range, and 50% on the free throw line.

Sammy Zeglinski, Mike Williams, and Nick Evans all added points in the double digits for the Storm victory. Zeglinski and Williams both scored 14 points a piece. Zeglinski added 4 rebounds and 4 assists, while Williams added 5 rebounds. Evans continues with his consistency for the Storm with 16 points, 5 rebounds, and 1 assist. 

The Rainmen and Storm went toe-to toe when it came to scoring points inside the paint with 52 for the Rainmen and 50 for the Storm. 

Tyrone Watson led the Rainmen with 18 points, 4 steals, and 2 assists. Joey Haywood followed close behind with 16 points, 2 assists, and 2 rebounds. Emmanuel Jones and Cliff Clinkscales added 14 points a piece on the night, while Jason Tubbs pitched in 13 with Chris Cayole following close behind with 12.

The Island Storm are finally home when they take on the Saint John Mill Rats in a rematch from their home opener on November 7th when the Storm won, 108-102. Tip-off time is 2 p.m. at the Eastlink Centre. Tomorrow's game will be a battle for first place with both teams tied with a 4-4 record.

The Rainmen have a mini vacation until Thursday, December 4th, when they hit the road and head to Saint John's to take on the Mill Rats at Harbour Station. Tip-off time is 7 p.m.
