Gameday -- December 5th, 2014

Windsor Express vs. London Lightning

The Windsor Express are the best team in the National Basketball League of Canada, and they proved it again Friday with an explosive 131-120 win over the London Lightning.

After ending the first quarter with a 24 point lead, the Express cruised to push their record to 7-1.

London's only lead came by a John Hart free-throw that put the score to 7-6 for London. Hart would go on to lead the game with 36 points, bit it wasn't enough as Windsor exploded for their highest point total on the year.

Tony Bennett went 6-10 from beyond the arc, ending the game with 34 points. Quinnel Brown also put up big points for Windsor, putting 23 up on the board and bringing down 20 rebounds.

The Express will take on the well-rested Mississauga Power on Sunday afternoon at the Hershey Centre, while London will face the Power at home on Thursday.

After controlling the first half, Joe Salerno's men -- who were sitting on a four-game winning streak -- were outscored in 36-28 in the third, giving Brampton the advantage at the EastLink Arena.

Brampton worked off a 66 point performance in the key, with players like Cavell Johnson chipping in 18 points.

The Storm relied on big debuts from Mike Martin and Avery Smith, who both had six rebounds while also dumping 22 and 16 points respectively.

Brampton, who are now 4-5, will now head out to Moncton to take on the Miracles on Saturday. The 5-5 Storm will face the aforementioned Miracles on Sunday afternoon.
