Saint John Mill Rats vs. Moncton Miracles
The Moncton Miracles find themselves sitting at a 3-8 record after an impressive win (121-102) over the Saint John Mill Rats in NBL action Friday night at Moncton Coliseum. The Mill Rats who started the season on a positive note find themselves hitting a slump with their third straight loss, falling to 4-8 on the season.
The Miracles started off strong and led by two at the end of the first quarter, 30-28. The Mill Rats answered back a few times, but it didn't stop the Miracles from securing a ten point lead at half-time, 63-53. The Mill Rats defense went on the back burner and Moncton capitalized on the three-pointers to take a commanding 102-73 lead in the third quarter. The Mill Rats were not down and out just yet, as they accumulated another 29 points, however, there was not enough time to make a solid comeback.
Stanley Robinson had a stellar night for the Miracles with 30 points and 10 rebounds. Trayvon Lathan shot 83% from the floor and added 20 points 8 rebounds, and 5 assists.
Anthony Anderson was the leading scorer for the Mill Rats with 21 on the night with two rebounds, and five assists. Kenny Jones wasn't too far behind with 17 points, 6 rebounds, and 6 assists.
The Mill Rats have eight days to shake out the cobwebs and get things back in order before they meet the Rainmen once again at the Scotiabank Centre on Saturday, December 20th. Tip-off time is 7 p.m.
