Halifax (16-7) at Niagara (10-17)

The Halifax Hurricanes started their three-game Ontario road trip on a positive note on Wednesday taking down the Niagara River Lions 100-95 at the Meridan Centre.

The Hurricanes looked in control for much of the game until the River Lions pulled their deficit to only four points late in the fourth. However, clutch free-throw shooting (23-25) and a +7 rebound differential lifted the Hurricanes to a 17-7 record.

The win ties them with London (17-9) with the most wins in the NBLC. Those two clubs will play each other in London on Saturday.

Billy White led the way for the Hurricanes with 26pts and a perfect 6-6 performance from the free-throw line. Travis Releford impressed in his first game as a River Lion, posting a 19pts and five rebounds. Logan Stutz put up 13pts and 13rebs.

Halifax will continue their Ontario road trip on Friday in Orangeville. Niagara will take on the A's at home on Sunday.
